cycle lanes
Location: , Inverness (Scotland, United Kingdom)
This is in the Lochardil area of Inverness. Not sure if councils get some sort of brownie points for the mileage of cycle lanes they have within their boundaries but on this stretch they are not very satisfactory even though, due to the presence of a nearby school, there are quite a lot of cyclists at certain times. As you can see the lanes for other vehicles are so narrow that it's more or less impossible for a car not to stray over the line. If the car on the left moved out of the cycle lane it would have to straddle the middle lane into the path of oncoming traffic. On the other hand when school is out the cyclists take over for a short time.
