Old Station Platform

Old platform of the former Dawley & Stirchley station now on a footpath which is part of the "Silkin Way" a long distance foot/cycle path that runs for some 14 miles from North of Telford across the town and down to the Severn Gorge at Coalport. This part is mostly laid on the old railway track of the LNWR Coalport branch (built 1860) which itself was laid on part of the old Shropshire Canal bed.
This part runs through the Telford Town Park which is a favourite place for lots of the local people. In 2015, it was voted "UK's Best Park" in the inaugural public competition organised by Fields in Trust.
